The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) held the first of its conversation series titled “DIÁLOGO” in partnership with El Consejo Atenista (ECA) on April 19, 2024, at the College Lobby of the Canisius-Gonzaga building with University President Fr. Guillrey Anthony “Ernald” Andal, SJ, EdD as its guest.
In an up-close conversation, Fr. Ernald shared his experiences so far as university president, his hopes and aspirations for AdZU, and his thoughts on issues both in the university and in the city. The students, staff, and faculty present were also able to hear about his experiences as a student, a priest, and an administrator through the years during the question and answer portion.
“Kapag nakita niyo po ako na naglalakad lang diyan, sana bigyan niyo po ako ng pagkakataon na makilala rin kayo,” Fr. Ernald ends his talk by inviting the community to engage in conversation with him to “encounter each other” even after the event.
DIÁLOGO is part of OSA’s Conversation Series in an effort to strengthen the relationship and camaraderie between the administration and the student body. OSA hopes to bridge the different offices and officials directly to the students in times of concern.
Instead of only airing complaints and sentiments on social media, the OSA Program Officer for Student Leadership and Organization Gianne Dela Cruz says that the office hopes for this platform to serve as a channel for the student body to express their aspirations and dreams for their future in Ateneo.
The event provided free coffee from Don Macchiatos to its audience.
