10 Types of People during Quarantine and What They Do

COVID-19 has rocked our lives since it spread all over the world. Suddenly, we found ourselves lockdown at home, with so much free time; we do not know what to do. It is indeed an anxious time for all and that left us no choice but find ways to deal with the quarantine. Listed below are the types of people in quarantine and what they do:

1. The Chefs and the Bakers

The quarantine can be also called the era of the Rising Chefs and Bakers. All of a sudden, everyone is posting home recipes left and right across the social media. If not recipes, they would post pictures of food they cooked or themselves cooking. Since most restaurants and fast-food chains are closed, people turned into chefs and bakers not just for sustenance but for comfort and entertainment too.

2. The Binge Racers

These people are trying to finish a show within 24 hours of its release. You might think it is crazy, but it is actually a normal thing with the binge racers. They watch a lot, they have probably run out of shows to watch. Binge racers consume shows from all possible streaming platforms, popularly Netflix. If you want to watch something and you cannot decide what, the binge racers are your go-to people since they give out good suggestions.

3. The Bookworms

Similar to the binge racers, the bookworms try to finish an entire book series in a day. It is quite possible, depending on how many books a series has. The stay at home setting is perfect for bookworms because they can finally read all the unfinished and pending books in their bookshelves.

4. The Business Savvies

A saying goes, “when life gives you a lemon, make lemonades,” and this what exactly these people are doing in the quarantine (well, not literally). Their creative mind and their instinct to create opportunities provided them an earning through online selling. They use their social media as the platform to sell goods ranging from food to medical supplies. With many of the establishments are close because of the community quarantine, these people not only earning money but also helping others who cannot go out to buy what they want.

5. The Lazy Ones

These people are the epitome of kain-tulog-walang trabaho. They sleep for more than 12 hours a day, wake up late and get up only to eat and do their business. They are holed up in their rooms doing absolutely nothing and complaining of being bored. When asked to do something, they will still complain because it is too tiring to do something. Usually, they face the dilemma of either being productive during this time or sleep and slack because they will not get this much free time again. Spoiler alert! They chose the latter.

6. The Fitness Gurus

The fitness gurus are the opposite of the lazy ones. They wake up early with so much energy then proceed to do their workout routine. You often see them posting mirror selfies of themselves drenched in sweat and social media stories full of videos of themselves working out. Even if the gyms are closed, the fitness gurus have found alternatives to make their body goals come true by following tutorials found online or creating their own regimen and sharing it with others too.

7. The Influencers

These types of people create content across social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and the phenomenal TikTok app. Their contents are usually something to do with the trend. The influencers have a substantial amount of followers, which they entertain through videos, pictures, or anything they might think of.

8. The Gardeners

The quarantine sparked a new interest and hobby to people, which is gardening. Some are not only doing this for a hobby but to make sure that they have access to fresh food when all comes to worst, especially that there is a shortage in supply on many grocery stores. The gardeners treat their plant-like their babies, fostering them with love and care.

9. Online Activists

These people are very vocal about their political stance and grievances online with what is happening in the country. You would often see them sharing online petitions to sign on, posting their point of view to certain topics, and encouraging others to do the same.

10. The Gamers

What is the better thing to do to counter social isolation than to play video games? The gamers spend their entire day playing – may it be on their phone, computer, laptop, PS4, Nintendo Switch, or any gaming platform they have. Gaming is also a way for gamers to meet up with their friends, to fill in the social void left by lockdown, and for the fun.

There is one thing important no matter what kind of person are you during the quarantine, and that is you are having fun in what you do. With all the negativities happening around us, it is necessary to surround yourself with happiness and peace of mind.
