The El Consejo Atenista (ECA) commenced the Miting de Avance last April 3, 2023, at the C-Garden of Ateneo de Zamboanga University to allow the candidates for the upcoming elections to present their platforms.
The press conference started with Fr. Rene Tacastacas, SJ, Vice President for Higher Education, giving his message to the candidates and student body emphasizing connectedness, responsiveness, and flexibility.
The entire activity was divided into three parts. The first segment allowed the candidates to answer yes-or-no questions with a given one minute to elaborate. In the second segment, the candidates were asked to connect several hashtags to their platforms, and to expound on their role as future student leaders. The third segment focused on furthering the discussion of their platforms. Candidates running for executive were given seven minutes to present while the governors and vice governors of each academic organization were given five minutes.
The voting period for the new El Consejo Atenista officers will officially start next week, April 12-14, 2023.
